Feeding Therapy

Supporting the whole child - at the table and beyond

We believe feeding is complex and deeply personal. Therapy is individualized, play-based when appropriate, and always child-led. Sessions may include structured activities, food exploration, caregiver coaching, and collaboration with other providers as needed.

What We Support:

Feeding therapy may help children who (ages 1-3):

  • Have difficulty chewing or swallowing

  • Gag, cough, or choke during meals

  • Show strong food aversions or limited food variety

  • Refuse certain textures, temperatures, or food groups

  • Take a long time to finish meals

  • Struggle with transitioning to solids or age-appropriate foods

  • Experience stress, anxiety, or behavioral challenges around mealtimes

  • Have a history of reflux, prematurity, or medical complexity impacting feeding

What to Expect:

  1. A comprehensive evaluation to understand your child’s feeding skills, sensory needs, and medical or developmental history

  2. Individualized, child-led therapy sessions

  3. Skill-building activities and food exploration

  4. Caregiver education and practical home strategies

Feeding therapy typically begins with a comprehensive evaluation to understand your child’s strengths, challenges, and medical or developmental history. From there, we create a customized treatment plan tailored to your child and family.
