Our Team

Zoe DeSaulnier OTR/L, Founder & CEO
As the founder of Whole Child Occupational Therapy, I have a passion for learning and practicing whole person integration, whether for myself or with the children I work with. For me, this means being present, noticing emotions, and tuning into body consciousness. It has been both my pleasure and honor to work with children for over 25 years. Most of all, I enjoy helping children succeed and thrive in achieving their goals.

I have found mindfulness, yoga, and emotional awareness to be instrumental in supporting the children I work with. Along with a deep understanding of child development, sensory integration, and reflex integration, I strive to work with the whole child (mind, body, and spirit) to better support connection, happiness, and growth.

Dr. Kristin Shepherd, Occupational Therapist
Hello! I'm Kristin, and I’ve had a passion for working with families from an early age. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and later completed my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Dominican University of California.

I began my career in a sensory integration clinic in Texas, working with children. I then spent eight years with the state of Texas supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with a focus on feeding and swallowing interventions. During this time, I also completed my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, specializing in program development for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder.

A big part of my personal life is that I was a foster mom for three years and adopted my son through the foster system. I’m passionate about families, and I look forward to being a part of your journey with occupational therapy.

Maria Fernanda Matos-Larrañaga, Occupational Therapist

Hello! My name is Maria, and I’m excited to be part of the team at Whole Child Occupational Therapy. My journey into OT started when my younger sister received OT services in middle school, sparking my interest in the field.

While at Pacific Union College, I discovered the world of Allied Health careers, and the positive impact OT had on my own family inspired me to pursue it. During OT school, I found my passion for pediatrics, particularly through fieldwork in school and clinic settings.

Since 2020, I’ve practiced in schools, helping students thrive. I am excited to continue my journey in the clinical setting and use the tools I’ve developed as we work together to build your child’s confidence and skills!

Nylah Lummer, Occupational Therapist

Hello! My name is Nylah, and I am excited to return to Sonoma County and join the team at Whole Child Occupational Therapy. I obtained my master’s degree from NYU in 2017 and have focused my career exclusively on pediatrics.
Before having my son in 2023, I led the occupational therapy department at a clinic in Florida, where I split my time between the clinic, a school, and early intervention. As a neuro-affirming practitioner, I am also certified in DIR Floortime, which I use to support the unique needs of the children and families I work with.
I absolutely love what I do and receive so much joy in supporting my clients in achieving their goals.

Tanyia Avery, Occupational Therapist

Hello! My name is Tanyia, and I am grateful to be part of your family’s occupational therapy journey. My passion for working with children began in massage school, where I took extra courses with a maternal-child health nurse in infant massage to support parent-child attachment and attunement. It was there that I discovered how deeply rewarding it is to work with families. When I later found occupational therapy, I knew I had discovered the perfect career.

I began my OT journey at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, with a focus on Maternal-Child Health and Pediatrics. Since 2009, I have worked primarily in school settings, supporting children from preschool through age 21 with a wide range of diagnoses. I chose to dedicate my career to pediatric OT because I love how child-centered, therapeutic play can create meaningful and lasting positive changes in children’s lives.

I look forward to supporting you and helping your child reach their full potential!

Kaitlin Mulvaney-Wilson, Occupational Therapist
Hello! My name is Kaitlin, and I am so excited to be part of the team at Whole Child Occupational Therapy!
I was born and raised in Arizona and moved to the Bay Area to get my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Dominican University in San Rafael. I love the outdoors and everything the North Bay has to offer. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, hiking, and playing with my pets.
I have always been passionate about child development and love learning all the unique ways kids think and move through the world. Meeting children and families where they are and supporting them in any way possible is what excites me about being a part of the Whole Child Occupational Therapy team.

Julia , Occupational Therapist
Hello! My name is Julia, and I am an OTR/L with a passion for pediatrics, neurodivergence, and sensory integration, and I’m delighted to be a part of Whole Child! Outside of work, I’m a devoted cat parent, avid reader, and crafter of all varieties. You can usually find me with my lovely partner, Emily, combing the beach for sea glass or geeking out at an anime convention.
I first fell in love with the occupational therapy profession when volunteering at a sensory integration clinic in my hometown of Roseville, CA. Since earning my MSOT from Dominican University, I’ve found immense joy working in the world of pediatric therapy. I began my OT career providing project-based therapy to neurodivergent and developmentally disabled adults. Since joining the world of pediatrics, I have been growing and developing my skillset in a Marin-based outpatient clinic, with emphasis on sensory integration via relationship-based therapy. I am enthralled by the sensory world, especially where it intersects with young and neurodiverse minds and bodies. I’m a strong believer in the therapeutic value of empowerment, playfulness, and humor.

Brianna Orme, M.S., CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist

Hello! My name is Bri, and I’ve always had a passion for helping children find their voice and confidence through communication. I earned my Master's in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University East Bay in 2024 and have spent the past two years working with pediatric clients across a variety of settings.

My experience includes supporting children in early intervention, autism, gestalt language processing, AAC, and motor speech disorders. I’ve recently begun expanding my skills in feeding therapy and have loved helping children build positive, confident relationships with food. My therapy approach is play-based, child-led, and grounded in neurodiversity-affirming care that celebrates each child’s unique way of learning and connecting. Outside of the clinic, I love adventuring with my husband and our dog, and spending time baking.

I’m so excited to be part of this community and look forward to supporting your child’s communication journey with compassion, creativity, and care.
